About James Nikolas

I started in senior living over a decade ago. I was first introduced to senior housing by a family member. He was looking for a sales person for a couple of his communities. It didn't take long for me to fall in love with senior housing. Helping families find a place to call home for a loved one can be very rewarding! I was with that company for 5 years working with assisted living, and memory care communities. After that I moved over to a hospice company as a Liaison (Sales). I learned quickly that there isn't enough education out there about hospice services and learned just how important my role was. Helping people navigate end of life is full of emotion. To have a team to help guide them, and be there through that time with them opened my eyes to all that I could offer. I loved it so much!

Over the years I worked with a variety of different companies working with independent, assisted living, memory care, and hospice services in the sales role. I also learned and worked with a variety of case managers helping people with Medicaid. I eventually changed from sales to the Executive Director role. Over those first years I kept feeling pulled to what was going on in the community, Instead of finding people to move into my community. I wanted to help solve the daily activities within the communities. 2022 I decided I wanted to become an Executive Director, and was with a company that helped me take that leap. Being in that role for several years, it can be very stressful, but rewarding as well. It's a lot of responsibility, but when you have a strong caring team to work with, you can overcome anything.

All of this experience has led me to starting this company. I first learned about referral agencies working in sales. Overtime I started to realize that I want to be able to help families find their next home, but not with just one community. I can really find their wants and needs. Help develop a plan, and find the right home that can be close to the family, and will meet all of their needs for them to be able to age in place. So in 2025, I started A Loving Home Senior Referral Agency!
